A blood test that can predict dementia up to 15 years before symptoms start could change the lives of thousands, scientists believe. Researchers found 11 protein ‘biomarkers’ in the blood of individuals who were later diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and similar diseases, allowing them to foresee the conditions with more than 90 per cent accuracy.
