Detectives hunting for a father who went missing last month have found a body in the boot of a car in south London.
Justin Henry, 34, was reported missing on October 16 after last being seen in person at his partner’s address in Brixton, south London, the day before.
At around 9.50pm that evening, he was seen on CCTV buying food at a McDonald’s drive-thru restaurant on London Road in Croydon.
Officers hunting for Mr Henry revealed today that they found a red Nissan in Purley, south of Croydon, on November 6 and a body was recovered from the boot the next day.
Although formal identification is yet to take place, Mr Henry’s family have been kept informed of developments by the Met Police.

Police had earlier released CCTV footage of Justin Henry buying a meal at a McDonald’s drive-thru in London Road, Croydon, at around 9.50pm on October 15
A post-mortem that took place on Thursday did not reveal a cause of death.
A 29-year-old man and a 28-year-old man have been charged in connection with the investigation, police said.
Detective Chief Inspector Matt Webb, of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said: ‘Due to the need to preserve forensic evidence, officers conducted a careful and methodical examination of the scene.
‘However, on Tuesday, we confirmed that a body was in the car and we spoke to Justin’s family later that day. We are waiting to formally confirm the identity of the body.
‘My heart goes out to his family who have suffered weeks of anxiously waiting for news. Justin’s family are understandably very upset and we would ask media to respect their privacy at this very difficult time.
‘While we have charged two people with Justin’s murder, we would still like anyone who has any information of the red Nissan’s movements in the days following Justin’s disappearance to call police – we still need and ask for the public’s help.’
Police believe that Mr Henry was driven from McDonalds to nearby Waddon New Road where his silver Mercedes E Class remained for around two-and-a-half hours.
The Mercedes was later discovered on Monday October 16 in Kingswood Drive, south-east London.
Police do not know who was driving the vehicle when it arrived at Kingswood Drive shortly before 1am on October 16 because of poor quality CCTV images of the driver. Mr Henry’s family say it was not him.
Officers have conducted forensic examinations of an address in Croydon and Mr Henry’s car, as well as extensive CCTV and phone inquiries.
On October 18, a 27-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping. She has since been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in mid-January 2024.
Earlier this month, Mr Henry’s mother Helen Henry said: ‘Our family are broken and we cannot begin to heal until we get closure.
‘I, my family, and the community are all devastated and we desperately want to find Justin. I am asking anyone who can help us to end our agony.
‘Justin’s son is only 11-years-old, he wants to know what has happened to his daddy and I am afraid that unless someone comes forward, he will never find out.’
