Last week, I flew to Massachusetts to visit my 94-year grandmother in the hospital. Let me tell you about this amazing woman. Barbara, Auntie B, or Gramma to us grandkids, was born in 1930 to first-generation Newfoundlanders. (No wonder I love the music of Alan Doyle (and Great Big Sea), it’s in my DNA!) Gramma was a preschool teacher for 22 years and has been an active member in her community for her entire life. She was a heck of a quilter and helped launch multiple quilting initiatives over the years. She volunteered at the Council on Aging. She often…

Sharing why I’m obsessed with barefoot shoes and how you can incorporate them into your fitness routine and life! Hi friends! Happy Monday! How was the weekend? I had an amazing time in San Diego with Betsy attending the Lagree certification workshop at DEFINE. (San Diego friends, go take a class with my friend Carina! I’ve known her for years – we taught barre together in SD – and she’s an incredible instructor and person.) So today, let’s talk about barefoot shoes. (It was hilarious when I went to gather all of my shoes for this photoshoot. I was like…

Sharing a round-up of vegan pumpkin recipes to enjoy this fall! Hey friends! Fall is finally here, and you know what that means—jeans, sweaters, boots, chili, aaaaand pumpkin everything! There’s something about that cozy, slightly sweet flavor that just screams autumn. Our leaves don’t change here in AZ, but the air gets a little crisper, and I love to bake and create pumpkin recipes. The Pilot isn’t a fan of squashes and gourds, but thankfully, I have two little pumpkin-obsessed buddies. Whether you’re a long-time vegan or just looking to add more plant-based meals to your diet, I’ve got some…

Sharing some journaling prompts you can use as we wrap up the last portion of the year.  Hiiii friends! Happy Wednesday! What do you have going on this week? My newest baby niece will be born this week and I can’t wait! I’m excited to put some baby meals together 🙂 Today, I wanted to chat about something that has changed my morning routine: journaling. I always heard people talking about it, but didn’t want to give it a try because it felt awkward and uncomfortable. I’m supposed to just… write?? Write about what? What if it isn’t good? What…

We have two choices for how we spend the rest of 2024: Path A: Coast and say “I’ll start back up in January.” Path B: Treat it like a Beta Test for 2025. Our brains are going to try and convince us to pick Path A. I want you to pick Path B. Here’s how Beta Testing works: We’re going to experiment with our lives and find out what we want to work on in 2025. We’re not looking to stick with the perfect workout, or trying to build a flawless streak of running every day. We’re not trying to…

I know you’re overcomplicating things, because everybody does. Including me, the nerd who studies this stuff for a living. I shared a quick story the other day on Threads (and Instagram): A few thousand people resonated, and I couldn’t help but chuckle at the replies. Magdalena jokingly said it best: When life asks me to juggle chainsaws and then sets those chainsaws on fire, I tend to get away from the things that keep me functioning as a fulfilled human. Lately, I found myself feeling a bit discombobulated and sluggish in the morning and struggled to focus. So I asked…

Hi friends! Happy Friday! What’s going on this weekend? P has some basketball games and then the girls and I are off to Phoenix for dance. (The Pilot has a huge work event so that’s his life lately.) It’s going to be a busy one, but I really look forward to the weekends and love watching the girls shine in their respective activities. I’m also excited to get out fall decorations! I was tempted to buy all the gourds at Whole Foods, until I remembered that the javelinas love to eat them 😉 It’s time for the weekly Friday Faves…

Sharing some of my favorite fashion finds for fall! Hi friends! How are you? I hope you had an amazing weekend! We had a great little staycation in Phoenix, and P and I hit up the trampoline park and the Children’s Museum while Liv took dance classes all day. We’re back home, back to school, and I’m blitzing through work before I leave on a San Diego trip this week. I’d love to hear about your weekend!
